Assam | Woman harassed in Guwahati-Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express; 2 held


GUWAHATI | March 23, 2019:

In an incident, a Gauhati University student was allegedly harassed by employees of a catering company inside the Guwahati-Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express.

According to reports, the woman encountered the unfortunate incident while she was travelling on the Guwahati-Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express and was harassed by two employees of a catering company who were found intoxicated.

The two have been identified as Md Sakir and Md Aftab. The duo had harassed the victim and her mother by repeatedly asking them to order their meals, despite the victim's refusal.

Following the incident, the woman had filed a complaint with the railway police upon reaching Dibrugarh. Both the accused have been arrested.

Officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway said that the accused duo are not railway staff but rather engaged with a private firm, M/s Krishna Enterprises, which is engaged in supplying meals inside the train.
