Assam: Journalists' pension to rise to Rs 10,000; financial help up to 3 lakh, says IPR Minister

The announcement was made by the minister in a meeting held with various journalist associations of the state.

DISPUR:
Assam's Information and Public Relations (IPR) Minister Pijush Hazarika announced on Thursday, that the monthly pension amount of the journalists' pension scheme was revised from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000, coupled with a one-time financial assistance to the journalists' kin, which will be provided in case of death on the job.

The announcement was made by the minister in a meeting held with various journalist associations of the state at his office conference room at Janata Bhawan.

Assam's IPR Director Anupam Choudhury and Secretary Neera Gogoi Sonowal, along with other officials, were also present in the meeting.
