Assam CM urges people to work for corruption-free, terrorism-free state!
Guwahati, January 19, 2018: Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday said that people of the region will have to come forward for a corruption-free, terrorism-free, pollution-free, green and harmonious Assam.
Sonowal, who was addressing the opening event of the closing ceremony of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) year long golden jubilee celebrations at "Banaswr Fwthar", also said that the union is fighting not only for the Bodo community but for all other communities of the state.
Appreciating it's discipline and the way ABSU works, Sonowal also said that Absu will have to lead the people of both Barak and Brahmaputra valleys and people of hills and plains.
He said communal harmony is required for the development of a nation, adding that he is sincere in considering every issue of the Bodo community. Moreover, laying stress on the educational development of the Bodo communities, he said knowledge is power and to gain it one must gain education.
All Assam Students Union adviser, Sammujjal Bhattacharjya said that besides regular activities, ABSU will have to provide the direction to the people of Assam and take responsibility of protecting the indigenous people of the state.
Laying stress on the future of the people of the region, Bhattacharjya also mentioned that the people should look forward to an error-free NRC in the days to come.
