ULFA (I) linkman held with large quantity of explosives, detonator in Arunachal

A linkman for the banned ULFA (I) outfit was apprehended by the Lekhapani Battalion of Indian army under the aegis of DAO Division during an operation in Kotha village, Arunachal Pradesh in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

.Acting on a credible input from its sources, the battalion launched a swift operation and cordoned the suspect's house. The individual was apprehended and search was carried out wherein large quantity of explosives and a detonator was recovered.

On questioning the individual confessed to being a linkman for the banned ULFA(I) outfit and was handed over to police at Lekhapani police station.

'This apprehension is an indicator that the underground outfit is trying to fan out and establish its influence among the villages in south Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and is trying to use locals in achieving it notorious aims," Defence PRO (Kohima) Col C Konwer said. 

The security forces has been carrying out aggressive operations in the South Arunachal Pradesh and this apprehension struck a big blow to nefarious plans of underground outfit by exposing its plans of using unsuspecting locals.
