Arunachal Pradesh records highest single-day spike

ITANAGAR | AUG 31, 2020: 

Arunachal Pradesh reported 157 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday – the state's highest single-day spike since August 26.

Of the 157 fresh cases, 46 are from Changlang, 24 from Itanagar Capital Complex, 19 from Siang, 12 from Lower Siang, 11 from West Siang, 10 from Tawang, nine each from Tirap and East Siang, five from Upper Subansiri, three from Upper Siang, two each from Lower Dibang Valley, West Kameng and Shi Yomi and one from Papum Pare.

Excluding 13 patients, all are asymptomatic and have been admitted to COVID Care Centres (CCCs), the report said.

Arunachal also reported 68 more recoveries on Sunday.

We may note that the Capital Complex region comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas has so far registered 1,190 cases, followed by Changlang (459) and West Kameng (358).

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 4,034 with 1,205 active cases, 2,822 recoveries and seven fatalities.
