Olympics: Shiva Thapa to take on defending champion in first fight

Shiva Thapa, the boxer from Assam who is ranked 6th on the AIBA list will have a tough first round and he will take on defending Olympic and former World Champion Robeisy Ramirez (Cuba).

Ramirez is one of the biggest and brightest names in amateur boxing and in 2010 at the Youth Olympic Games, the fought each other. Ramirez won by a comfortable margin of 5-2 against Shiva Thapa.

Shiva Thapa however has become better and is more confident and his style of boxing is based on intelligence and skill rather than physical strength and force which we hope will take him far in the Olympic games.
