Assam player Parikshit Somani breezes into semis of ITF Junior World Tennis Tournament

The ITF Junior World Ranking Tennis Tournament which is currently underway in Assam has put the spotlight on Parikshit Somani who has cruised into the singles semi finals.

The 16-year-old player from Assam beat Himanshu Mor 6-2, 6-0 as he breezed past his opponent to advance into the round of four.

Another player who has booked a semi final berth is wildcard entry Sumitpal Singh who beat Srivatsa Ratakonda in the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

Assam's Somani is also in the boys' doubles semi-finals along with his doubles partner Kabir Manrai.

Somani is seeded first in the tournament and is definitely one to look out for not only in Indian circles but also on an international level.
