Assam boy becomes Champion in U17 category at All India Junior Ranking Badmnton Tournament 2017

Guwahati, July 15, 2017: Assam has yet another feather of achievement on its hat as  Imon Sonowal has become the champion in U17 category in the Jodhpur All India Junior Ranking Badmnton Tournament 2017. The information was received from the President, Badminton Association of India, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He has been adjudged in the boy's singles category in the U-17 of All India Junior Ranking Badmnton Tournament 2017 and belongs to Tinsukia district of Assam.

Earlier Imon had also participated in 3rd all-Assam inter-district ranking badminton tournament in 2009.

Earlier Imon had also qualified for the State Level Residential Coaching Camp for front ranking players between the age group of 14-17 years in Badminton that began on January 4, 2017 and continued upto January 24th. 10 disciplines including badminton were short listed for this scheme where 395 players took part and where coaching was provided by 10 national coaches .
