Karimganj, Jan 10,2018: In the ongoing 4th Northeast Taekwondo championship, Nagaland has so far won 16 medals with 3 gold medals.The championship is currently held at DSA, Karimganj.
Nagaland’s Neikhozo Naprantsu striked the first Gold Medal for the state in the under 33 kgs cadet boys on Monday evening.
Hinglakbo Nike bagged Gold Medal in the under 45 kgs cadet boys and Zakieneikho Peseyie annexed Gold Medal in the over 65 kgs cadet boys, the 2nd and 3rd Gold Medals respectively on Tuesday.
Nagaland also won 4 Silver Medals and 8 Bronze Medals, totaling 16 in various the categories during the championship.
The championship is organized by Karimganj District Taekwondo Association and played under the aegis of North-East Taekwondo Union (NETU).
Altogether 45 member team under the aegis of Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) is taking part in the three day championship which will conclude on Wednesday.
NTA Media Cell informed in a press release that six northeast states – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya Nagaland and SSB team with 232 players and 25 officials are part of the championship.
