Shillong girl bags 'best actress' award in Prag Cine Awards 2017 for her role in 'Dak Bangla'

SHILLONG, June 19 2017: What may be a proud moment for Meghalaya, Shillong-based actor Sylviana L Mawlong brought laurels to the state by winning the prestigious ‘Best Actor Northeast female’ in the Prag Cine Awards Northeast 2017 held at Kokrajhar, Assam on  June 17–18.

Mawlong who won the title for her role in ‘Dak Bangla’ as a mentally unstable girl who is possessed by an evil spirit who haunt her house is proud to receive the award as she consider it as a stepping stone not only for her but for the entire film industry in the state.

Prag Cine Awards North-East 2017 is a ceremony, presented by the Prag Network, honoured the actors, technical achievements, and films censored in 2016 from Assam and rest of Northeast India.

Khasi’s film horror movie – ‘Dak Bangla’ is a horror movie directed by Kitbok Kharmalki and produced by Justice Marwein with Regina Lamu, Sylvania Mawlong (Main), Metilda Nongbah and Joseph Pyngrope as the main starrers.

It is a movie about a 12 year old rape victim who was brutally killed in the same house inhabited by the present owners and her spirit still lingers on.
