A day after a news of BJP national leader Ram Madhav getting caught with women in Nagaland, rocked the entire nation, the BJP on Monday informed that an FIR has been filed against the news portal in Dimapur on Sunday evening.
Addressing media persons here in Shillong on Monday, BJP leader and former union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said “It is a fictitious report intended to tarnish the image of Ram Madhav. Fake news cannot be tolerated. Suspiciously, the news portal has vanished but we are following up with the case aggressively.”
A sensational news of the BJP leader getting caught with two women in poll-bound state of Nagaland and the subsequent blackmail initiated by NSCN, who caught the Madhav red handed has created so much of a hype across the country with the Congress demanding an explanation on the matter.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the BJP the news portal, that reported the incident, which seems to be another fake news agency or channel is devoid of any truth and written with malicious intent. Such spreading of false news is tantamount to not only character assassination but also poses grave risk of sparking off communal tension.
“We are talking up with such cases very seriously and what is more suspicious is that the news portal which carried the story has completely vanished,” BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kolhi told reporters here today.
The BJP stated that appropriate sections of the law and the IT Act would be applied to penalize and punish those responsible for the mischief.
