SHE

By Watila Longkumer

Standing tall
And standing out amongst the crowd
She stands
With all elegance
And all eyes of envy on her

But beneath those sparkling eyes
Lies untold stories
Behind those smiles
Lies tears
And a thousand tales of abuse

Years of unhappiness
Have left lines in her beautiful face
The forced smile seems to be aching her
It does not reach the eyes
But she stands tall and all cheerful

Braving it all
But dying underneath each moment
For what cause?
For the children or want of security?
Is it worth it?

Lady, it’s time to come out your comfort zone
Fight for your rights-Live life when you are alive
You don’t need someone to make your life miserable
Break free-walk out and live peacefully
