As the counting of votes in three Northeast Indian states reaches its peak, following are the trends so far in the three states:
Meghalaya: INC is leading with 22 seats followed closely by NPP with 16 and BJP with only 4 seats. BJP is trying hard to retain itself in the race and given the fact that the post poll alliance is very much a possibility, the BJP will definitely play its part in forming post poll alliance/s in the state.
Tripura: The 25 yr long rule of Manik Sarkar led front government initially faced only a threat from the saffron party but the BJP has definitely come out strong in the state winning a massive 41 seats while CPM stands at only 19. A clear indication of people’s voice for change.
Nagaland: The NPF stronghold bastion does not seem to be interested in retaining the party as a clear majority seems to be out of the possibility. NDPP-BJP currently stands at 24 seats while NPF stands at 24
This trend persists as of 1.45 pm as the vote counting goes on.
