Nagaland: Tsuknungakum Jamir wins Hornbill’s ‘Strongest Man’ title

Kohima, December 6, 2017: Tsuknungakum Jamir yesterday won ‘Strongest Man’ at the 1st Hornbill International Strongest & Fittest Man Competition held under the sponsorship of Zumu Gym Kohima and Tourism Department. The competition was part of the Hornbill Festival.

Vizobeilie Punyu stood runner-up in the competition. The winner and runner-up took home Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

Strongest man competitors went through a series of trials like squat lift (150 kg), farmers walk (60 kgs each), power stairs (50 to 60 kgs), loading race (25 and 50 kg) and dead lift (180 kg).

Vizobeilie Punyu also claimed the ‘Fittest Man’ title taking home Rs.40,000 and the runner-up Kutho Nyekha was awarded with Rs. 20,000. The competitors for fittest man event went through snatch, clean & jerk, burpee, one leg squat, dead lift, push up, free squat and climbing snail.

Meanwhile, Hepuni Kajiikho was declared Mr Hornbill 2017-18 and awarded with Rs. 5000.
