KOHIMA, November 24: At the fourth edition of Tata steel’s Tribal Conclave ‘Samvaad’ 2017 an hour long concert was performed by Tetseo Sisters of Nagaland showcasing Naga Folk songs, folk fusion and storytelling.
This event was held from November 15-19 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
“This is the fourth edition of Samvaad and the theme for this year welcomes tribal youth to share their personal stories. We look forward to cross pollination of ideas and participation of tribal leaders not just from India but from five different countries as well.” Sunil Bhaskaran, VP, Corporate Services, Tata Steel said.
Samvaad 2017 drew an array of tribal representatives internationally from Australia, Canada, Kenya, Laos and Zimbabwe sharing their successful stories tribulations and trials faced by tribals in their respective countries.
The visitors also witnessed sporting action thanks to National Tribal Sports Festival, a first-ever feature showcasing four action-packed tribal sports—Naga Wrestling (Chakhesang tribe, Nagaland), Hambi Kepathu (Karbi tribe, Assam), Kati (Santhal tribe, Jharkhand and Odisha) and Sekkor (Ho tribe, Jharkhand).
