Nagaland Polls: 22 candidates file nominations today including Neiphiu Rio

Finally, breaking the silence, as many as 22 candidates filed their nomination papers on Tuesday to contest the ensuing Assembly Polls in Nagaland.

Just one day left for candidates to file their nominations, the 22 candidates from four different parties — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Democratic People’s Party (NDPP), Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Janata Dal-United JD (U) were the first ones to take part in the poll process.

Some of the prominent candidates include–Lone Lok Sabha MP and Former chief minister Neiphiu Rio (NDPP) from Northern Angami-II, TM Lotha (BJP) from Wokha, Jacob Zhimomi (BJP) from Ghaspani, Dr Nicky Kire (NDPP) from Kohima, Vikho-o Yhoshu (NDPP) from Southern Angami-I, Dr Sukhayo Sema (BJP) from Pugoboto, Neiba Kromu (NDPP) from Pfutsero.
