Nagaland: Kailash Kher ready to rock with project band Surfira

KOHIMA, December 1, 2017: Indian singer Kailash Kher along with his project band Surfira arrived in Dimapur on Thursday at DDSC Stadium on November 30 evening as part of Hornbill International Music Festival 2017.

Kailash Kher while interacting with newsmen at the airport said he was very happy and honoured to be a part of this festival and also expressed his excitement at the response of his fans when he came last year. He also said that Hornbill Music fest caters music lovers and lauded the Music Task Force and Government of Nagaland for organizing the event.

The Padma Shree awardee said, “I am already in love with entire northeast and Nagaland is among the pioneers in art and culture”.

“We want to make audio visual about the festival” said Kailash Kher expressing his wish to compose an album for the Hornbill festival. The singer who extended a day of his stay in Nagaland will be performing alongside his band Surfira. He will also be visiting Kisama.

On a lighter note, Kailash added, “I like people chewing tamul.” He further expressed his desire to visit the Dzukou Valley.

Project Director, Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi receiving Kailash at the airport expressed delight to have him in Nagaland for the second time. He also informed that 23 bands including three foreign bands from America, Singapore and Bhutan would be participating at the International Rock Contest.
