As the election date approaches closer, political parties in Nagaland are campaigning in full swing with their star campaigners interacting with the people more than ever before.
As election campaigns become a daily affair, Defence Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman along with Union Minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju released the BJP manifesto in the poll bound stateon February 16 at Nagaland’s capital city, Dimapur after addressing a maating at Chumukedima town.
Being active on social media, Kiren Rijiju tweeted:
Launched BJP Election manifesto for the Nagaland Assembly Election 2018 with Defence Minister @nsitharaman ji at Dimapur. It’s our commitment for the Naga People. Also addressed the meeting at Chumukedima. pic.twitter.com/xkfesIfkls

It may be mentioned that the BJP has settled for only 20 seats and agreed to let the NDPP contest the remaining 40 seats. Although the BJP had been in alliance with the Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) for the last 15 years, it favoured the newly-floated NDPP headed by its Chief Ministerial candidate Neiphu Rio.
