As nomination filing for Nagaland Assembly polls comes to an end and the scrutiny continues, it is important to note hoe the vigilant civil society keeps a track of their candidates representing them in the elections. As the state goes for polls on February 27, the affidavits of each public representative is out in the open for all to see.
An interesting revelation of the affidavit of Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang shows an alteration in his educational qualification as seen under. A Facebook group called Naga Hills Express was seen posting in their group that –
“Mr. TR Zeliang, chief minister of Nagaland has filed nomination papers for the upcoming assembly elections supported by a duly sworn affidavit in which he has shown his educational qualification as under-graduate. This is a shocking departure from his earlier publicly stated claim that he is a graduate and has passed his BA examination in the year 1980 from Kohima College, Kohima affiliated to NEHU”
In order to confirm this, when we checked the affidavit of the CM, what we found totally tallied with what we read.
