In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old youth was found lying in a pool of blood as he fell off from a four-storey building on January 23. The incident occurred at around 8 pm when the victim identified as Lalsantluong alias Aryan Ngurte was having dinner along with his friends at Top-Chef restaurant, near Vanapa Hall here, police said.
They said that the victim fell down from a four-storey building which was reportedly owned by an opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) MLA, located at the heart of the state capital near Vanapa Hall. The youth died on the spot.
“He went to bathroom while we were having dinner and within a span of few minutes, we heard a loud bang from a window. We peeped out and to our shock found our friend lying in a pool of blood on the ground,” a friend, who dined out with the victim told TNT- The Northeast Today. He said that the victim purportedly fell off from a barless window.

Family sources said he left home at around 5 pm in the evening to dine out with his friends.
“He told us that he will dine out with his friends and come home late. But within a few hours of his departure from home, we heard this sad news that shocked and saddened us profoundly,” Joel Ngurte, brother of the victim said, adding he was the youngest among 12 children.
An investigation is on to find out if it was an accident, suicide or murder case, police also said. The postmortem reports are awaited.
