Meghalaya Police likely to write to Facebook over controversial FB post!

SHILLONG, September 13, 2017: A day after Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh and his son Nathaniel Rymmai filed an FIR against a facebook user for claiming that the duo are her clients, the state police on Wednesday informed that will probably write to Facebook to provide them with the IP address of the FB user.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Davis NR Marak informed that they are contemplating to write to Facebook to provide the IP address of one Phiba Sharai alias Rina who had posted in the Facebook site “Thad Madan” that the son of Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh, Nathaniel Osbert Rymmai and others as her customers.

“We would try to get the IP address of the Phiba Sharai which is a fake account. We cannot get the detailed of the account since it had already been deleted,” Marak told newsmen here on Wednesday.

The district police chief also informed that they have already registered a case on the matter as per the three FIRs which they had received.

Earlier on Tuesday, HDR son along with two others had filed a FIR against the woman.  The other two who had filed an FIR included a teacher of All Saints School, Depak Sutra Dhar and a doctor of Nazareth Hospital, Hampher Kynjing.

The duo stated in an FIR that the inclusion of their name as one of her customers was an attempt to defame and tarnish their image. It may be mentioned that the lady had claimed that Nathaniel was the father of her child.

In the Facebook post, the lady had claimed that her customers till date are 22 students, 65 college students and three ministers of Meghalaya.
