Meghalaya: ‘Mukul’s greed will be the end of him’- says HNLC

By Our Reporter, TNT News | Shillong, Feb 13, 2018:

The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) on Tuesday criticized Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma for contesting the ensuing assembly elections from two seats — Ampati and Songsak and stated that his greed will be the end of him.

“His (Mukul) decision to contest in two seats will be the end of him as the same can be likened to him, trying to carry a heavy boulder, which will ultimately crush his own feet,” HNLC publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said in a press statement issued here on Tuesday.

The congress is a party which only embraces immigrants, said Nongtraw adding that the congress-led government has lost all the trust and support of the people of Meghalaya and the HNLC will make sure that the congress will not come back to power especially in Khasi-Jaintia Hills.

Referring to a phrase written by William Shakespeare – Sometimes you have to be cruel only to be kind, the HNLC publicity secretary said “In the same way, you have to congratulate the Congress with your right hand, but you should use the same hand to vote for the Congress. The decision now lies with the people, whether they will provide the Congress another chance to dictate the state and lead the Jaidbynriew into the chasm of never-ending torture.”

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma will be contesting the 2018 assembly polls from two constituencies – Ampati (his home-turf) and Songsak.
