Meghalaya: India Youth Congress leads Christians rally against PM Modi in Phulbari

TURA, April 13: Christian majority states like Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland were exempted from Digital India Day as the chorus grew louder for declaring on such a wrong time moving the sentiments of many of which they started hitting back on social media platforms.

The India Youth Congress(IYC) today led a rally of people of Christian faith in the town of Phulbari to protest against the central government’s decision to celebrate the 14th of April as Digital India Day, as it falls on Good Friday, one of the most important days in the Christian calendar.

The rally also burnt the effigies of PM Narendra Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah and BJP I/C Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli on allegedly trying to suppress minorities.

The rally was led by the general secretary of Phulbari Assembly, Salgrak R Marak.
