Meghalaya CM to present budget for 2018-19 on March 23

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, who also holds Finance portfolio, will present the budget estimates for the financial year 2018-19 and also the vote on account 2018-19 on March 23.

The Budget Session of the 10th Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will begin from March 16 till April 21.

The business of the budget session was approved by the Business Advisory headed by the Assembly’s Speaker Donkupar Roy in its meeting held here on Tuesday.

As per the decision of the BAC, out of the 18 working days, twelve days will be allotted to government business and the remaining six days for private members.

Speaking to reporters, Roy said that the budget session will begin from March 16 to April 20.

Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad will deliver his address on the first day of the budget session.

Meanwhile, the election to the office of the Assembly’s deputy speaker will be held on March 21.
