IMPHAL, February 12, 2018: In a case of fraud that occurred in Manipur, a lady from Khurai Konsam Leikai has sought the state authority to punish her ‘fraudulent’ lover who eloped with her and absconded after collecting a large sum of money with the promise of providing government job.
The fraud victim at Manipur Press Club told the reporters that Laishram Nilachandra from Phubala of Bishnupur district had entrusted her in the first meeting as ex-service man of Manipur police and presently working as joint director of Sana Security agency.
As per to the assurance he gave to me after having a cordial relationship, I started trusting him and paid Rs. 3,10,000 to get a government job for me. On my behalf he collected around Rs. 16, 00000 from four other people, who are very close to me in the same condition of luring with government job, she said.
The lady said, “Whenever I called and enquired about our job and money, he threatened me”. After few days later, he pacified my anger and later assured of getting married and asked for elopement, she added.
“Thinking that he comes to understand my situation, I had accepted his proposal of elopement and married at the court on June 10, 2017. Since then he has been absconding from me”, she said.
She had lodge a complaint at Imphal East women police station this month. The police had sent a summon to victim’s house, but was unable to meet him as he was not at home, she lamented.
She requested the concerned authorities to take stringent action against him his misbehavior towards women and for cheating.
