Manipur CM Ibobi Singh to resign in 24 hours, BJP likely to form new Government

IMPHAL, March 13 2017: Incumbent Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has finally paved the way for the BJP to form the government in Manipur.

The stage set for BJP to form government in Manipur after Chief Minister Ibobi Singh changes his stance and announced to resign in 24 hours after failing to get enough support.

Earlier, Ibobi Singh had refused to resign even as he maintained that the congress is the single largest party.

Mystery still surrounds political landscape in Manipur until the Governor announces her decision.

Out of the total 60 assembly constituency seats, the BJP won 21 seats and claimed to have managed to get the support of 11 more MLAs taking the total to 32. 31 seats are required to form the government in Manipur.
