Nagaland: NSCN (IM) cadre held in Dimapur, weapons recovered

KOHIMA | OCT 18, 2019:

In an ongoing crackdown by the Assam Rifles on insurgent groups, one active cadre of NSCN (IM) was apprehended on Monday, October 14 in Piphema Town, Dimapur.

The cadre has been identified as SS Leacy Macha Angami, 55-years-old from Piphema town, district Dimapur.

The security officials based on specific information regarding presence of NSCN (IM) in general area Piphema Town, Dimapur launched a search operation and apprehended the cadre.

One point 32 mm Pistol with ammunition and other incriminating materials was recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee along with recovered items have been handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation.
