Nagaland: Liquor raid conducted in Dimapur, 28 offenders penalised

DIMAPUR | Feb 26:

The Excise department comprising of three units (Narcotic Cell, Mobile squad & District Excise) conducted raid at several places in and around Dimapur yesterday in order to control the sale and flow of liquor in the commercial hub of Nagaland.

Excise Commissioner, Tarep Imchen informed that during the raid the Excise personnel seized 2017 bottles of assorted Indian-made foreign liquor and 28 offenders were penalised and booked under Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989.

The Excise department cautions that those found dealing in such illegal liquor activities will be subjected to full force of the law. The raid will be conducted from time to time to control the liquor menace, he added.
