Meghalaya: Sanbor Shullai accused of instigating voters to vote in favour of BJP; complaint lodged

A complaint was lodged with the state police on Thursday against BJP MP candidate for Shillong parliamentary seat, Sanbor Shullai for allegedly canvassing outside the polling station while also instigating voters to vote in favour of the saffron party. 

The complaint was filed by the presiding officer of Sankardev polling station today afternoon.

Shullai, who is also the sitting MLA of Shillong South, cast his vote in Sankardev College polling station after which he was alleged of instigating people to vote in his favour. 

When the polling agents of the other political parties overheard him, they came out to confront him following which, he was alleged of misbehaving with the polling agents.  

It may be mentioned that there are 6 candidates in the fray for the Shillong seat — Vincent Pala of the INC, Dr Jemino Mawthoh of the UDP, Sanbor Shullai opf the BJP and three independent candidates — Romeo Phira Ranee, Samuel Hashah and THS Bonney.
