Meghalaya: Miscreants attempt to set Nongrah Presbyterian School on fire

Unidentified miscreants today attempted to set on fire the teachers' common room of Nongrah Presbyterian Secondary School in Shillong at around 8.30 am.

When contacted, school headmistress, B.T. Jyrwa informed that the school furnitures and text books were destroyed in the fire incident. According to her, the school children who witnessed the incident immediately informed the teachers.

She also said that the miscreants had pasted letter in the notice threatening the school teachers and the school management.

The school headmistress, however. said that she does not understand the intention behind the letter being pasted in the notice board while also making a reference to some financial matters.

She urged upon that the unidentified miscreants to come forward to discuss about their grievances with the school management.

Meanwhile, Rev B. Syiem, who is in charge of Nongrah Presbyterian Church, expressed his concerns over this incident.

"I would also urged upon the people who are responsible for this incident to come forward to meet the school management" Rev Syiem added.
