Meghalaya: Congress approaches UDP to form EC in KHADC

SHILLONG | March 02, 2019:

Just hours after the declaration of the results to the KHADC and JHADC polls today, the Congress wasted no time in approaching the regional parties to form the executive committee in the KHADC.

The Congress, which secured the highest number of seats in the KHADC standing at 10 seats, approached the President of the UDP, Donkupar Roy today seeking the regional party's support to form the EC in KHADC.

In KHADC, the UDP secured 6 seats, NPP got 7 seats, HSPDP-2, PDF-1 and three independent candidates.

However, it is very likely that the UDP would stick to its present ally — the NPP with the help of HSPDP and PDF, which are also allies in the MDA coalition.
