Manipur: Four Rohingyas arrested with fake Aadhaar cards

A team of Tengnoupal-PS personnel arrested four Rohingyas including two males and two females with fake Aadhaar cards, on May 27 from the check post at Tengnoupal district headquarters.

As per a report in the Imphal Free Press, a team from Tengnoupal-PS  was led by DSP/TPL N. Suraj Singh, and 2nd OC TPL-PS, under the supervision of SP/TPL, Th. Vikramjit Singh. And the four Rohingyas who were nabbed has been identified as (i) Sheikh Hasim alias Md. Anwar, 51, son of Shaikh Kasim of Rakhine state; (ii) Yasin, 60, son of Munaf of Maung Daw, Myanmar, (iii) Parbin, 18, daughter of Hakim Ali of Maung Daw, Myanmar, and (iv) Rajuma Akhtar, 19, daughter of Noor Hussein of Sainggodan Bu Thi Daung, Myanmar.

Sources said that on May 28, five more Rohingyas were apprehended from various places of Moreh town following raids conducted by the police forces. The apprehended individuals have been identified as (i) Dildar Begum, 26, daughter of Rafiq Md; (ii) Rafiqa Begum, 19, daughter of Sadiq Akbar; (iii) Zahida Begum, 27, daughter of Hussan Ahmad;  (iv) Abdul Karim ,30, son of Rahim Abdul and (v) Md. Araf , 22,  son of Rofiq Md. of Myanmar, all of Myanmar.

Following interrogations, a team of police personnel further arrested a Rohingya who has been identified as Md. Tahir, 30, son of Md. Yusuf of Rakhine State, Myanmar,  was arrested from Sora Chingwangma on May 30; and further investigations are going on, sources added.
