Manipur: Drugs worth over Rs. 1 crore seized in Ukhrul

IMPHAL | OCT 10, 2019:

The Assam Rifles troops on Tuesday, seized a huge contraband of drugs worth Rs. 1.41 crore near Aishi in UkhruI District, Manipur.

Security officials of AR based on intelligence inputs regarding transportation of Contraband drugs intercepted and apprehended a suspected drug peddler near Aishi village, Ukhrul District.

According to an official release, the arrested drug-peddler has been identified as Thong Khomin Haokip and is a resident of Aishi in Manipur.

The security officials had seized a total of 700 grams of Brown Sugar and 300 WIY Tablets worth Rs. 1.41 crores from his possession.

The arrested drug peddler along with the recovered items have been handed over to Chassad Police Station for further investigation.
