CM Biplab Kumar Deb appeals people of Tripura to observe Janta Curfew on Sunday

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has appealed to the people of the state to respond to the Prime Minister's call to observe 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday and to maintain the restriction imposed by the government and sought the co-operation of people to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
While addressing a press conference here at Civil secretariat on Saturday evening, Deb said that he had attended series of meeting on the preparedness to tackle with the possible outbreak of Coronavirus in Tripura or in case any positive patient entered into the territory of the state, he had also highlighted about steps, which were so far taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
He also gave details of health preparedness across health institutions of the state to tackle any possible Covid-19 positive patient.
He added any person who does not have any symptoms related to COVID-19, should not wear the face mask and all-district administration has been alerted to tackle with hoarding of essential items. The government will deal with black marketing or hoarders with stringent provisions of the law, said Deb.
Deb also hoped that people of the state will respond to the calls of Prime Minister and will maintain the 'Janata Curfew' to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, amid shortages of face masks, hand sanitizers, and other items required to deal with Coronavirus and other health hazards, massive awareness campaign is going on across the state taken by various departments along with some private bodies and NGOs.
As per the directive of the Food department, all the fair price shops of the state have already started using liquid hand wash to protect the customers from infection, who have put their fingerprints POS before purchasing PDS items. Different merchant associations and Bazar Committees have also declared to observe the 'Janata curfew' on Sunday.
