The menace of traffic in Shillong has become a cliched topic and yet there seems to be no solution to it. The road from Police Bazar to Keating Road in Shillong has no elevated pavement for the pedestrian. The cars are seen to drive through the edge of the road along the pavements meant for pedestrian which is not a correct thing to do; the road is so narrow yet it manages to have a parking lane of cabs which makes it difficult for the moving vehicles and pedestrians. People are often seen to get off the cabs anywhere they wish to and not in any dedicated location which results in further road clogging. There are three established school in Keating Road and all the school leave the students at almost the same time which creates further rush. It becomes very difficult for the children to walk and the road turns into a fatally accident prone zone.
