In a proud moment for the state of Nagaland and Northeast India as a whole, US educated lawyer turned social entrepreneur, Hekani Jakhalu was conferred the highest civilian honour for women — Nari Shakti Puraskar 2018 on the occasion of International Women's Day. She was one amongst any other women from the nation to have received this honour.
