Tripura student awarded National Talent Search Scholarship 2017

AGARTALA, Aug 26, 2017: A Tripura student has been selected for the award of National Talent Search Scholarship 2017, enabling him to pursue his higher education with financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship from the government.
Navjit Debnath is the only student from the state to receive the award. He is a student of Class X in Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya who cracked the National Talent Search Examination stage -I conducted by SCERT, Tripura. Later, he also qualified in the stage II exam conducted by NCERT , New Delhi in May this year. Results for the exam were out in the NCERT's official website.
His father Sankar Debnath is the Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) and mother –  Hari Prava Nath is a government school  teacher. It was informed that he would get the scholarship till his PhD.
The National Talent Search  Scheme is a flagship activity of the NCERT started in the year 1963. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level.
