Meghalaya: KSU to take on Uranium mining on Khasi National Awakening Day tomorrow

SHILLONG, April 3: As is tradition, the Khasi Students' Union (KSU) will organise its annual procession known as the Khasi National Awakening Day (Sngi Kyrsiew Ri) on April 4.

According to a press communique issued by the KSU, this year's theme will be "We oppose Uranium Mining" besides raising other issues like Railway project, border issues and educational issues.

On that day, the procession will kick start from Umkaliar, Demseiniong till the office of the Atomic Minerals Division, Nongmensong at 12 noon.

On reaching the office, the union will organise a short programme which will be followed by lighting of the traditional lamp, 'Tyngshop'
