Meghalaya: Committee awaits land survey report on Sweeper’s Lane

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong informed that the High Level Committee (HLC) would meet after receiving the report from the Directorate of Land Records and Survey on the detailed land survey of Them Iew Mawlong in Shillong.

"At present, we are awaiting for the report. The survey had just been completed. It will take sometime to compile the report," Tynsong who is also the chairman of the High Level Committee, informed here today.

It may be mentioned that the officials of the Directorate of Land Survey and Records in the presence of the officials from the district administration, Shillong Municipal Board and the Myntris of Hima Mylliem had completed the survey of the Sweeper's Lane on Friday last.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the committee at the same time is trying to identify the legal and illegal settlers. "Inventorisation is being taken care off by the Shillong Municipal Board. Once the inventorisation is completed, we will have a detailed account on the number of legal and illegal settlers," Tynsong said.

Meanwhile, sources however informed that the Shillong Municipal Board will start the inventory survey from tomorrow.
