Meghalaya: 10 people injured in road mishaps

Nine people were injured in an accident that took place today morning at around 10.30 am in 12th Mile, Mylliem when one tourist Indica (ML04 B 5037) collided head on with a Mahindra Bolero (ML05 Q 7448), that was coming from the opposite direction.

Eye witnesses narrated that the tourist Indica was on its way to Pynursla from Shillong and the Bolero was on its way to Shillong when the accident happened.

It was further informed that the Indica was severely damaged from the accident and the Bolero fell down into a 20-feet deep gorge after the collision.

In this incident, 9 occupants from both the vehicles sustained injuries. All the injured victims were Shifted to the hospital by a 108 ambulance, private ambulance and police vehicle.

In another case of accident, one  truck driver, Chotu Seteki (22) sustained injuries after the truck that he was driving collided with another 14 wheel truck that was coming from the opposite direction.

This accident happened today morning at around 2.30 am in 8th Mile in West Jaintia Hills District.

The Jowai based 108 ambulance helped in shifting Chotu Seteki to Civil Hospital, Ialong.
