It’s Official! Meghalaya to host National Games 2022

SHILLONG, March 23 2017: It's official! Meghalaya will host the 2022 National Games.

Informing this here on Thursday, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith Sangma said that an official communication from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has been received in this regard.

Sangma said that the Meghalaya government, Meghalaya State Olympics Association and IOA would soon sign a tripartite agreement.

Last year, Meghalaya had submitted its bid before the Indian Olympic Association to host the Games.

Till date, only two states in the North East have hosted the National Games – Manipur in 1999 and Assam in 2007.
