Eminent writer Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi has been selected for the prestigious 5th Bhupen Hazarika National Award 2017.

The award will be conferred to him at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir in September.

#1. Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi is an Indian writer and was formerly Deputy Commissioner.

#2. His first literary creation is a poem named Junbai’

#3. Born in Tibetan calendar year of the eight day of fourth in Iron hare year which corresponds to 13 June 1952 of Roman calendar year, to late Tashi Phuntsu Thongschi and late Rinchin Chojom Thongsi at village Jigaon of present day West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

#4. Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi in 1977 was appointed as Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service Officer. Thongchi was inducted to the Indian Administrative Service in 1992.

#5. Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi first poem Jonbai was published in 1967 in an Assamese Children’s Magazine.
