Meghalaya’s ‘largest cultural Fest’ – SHISHIR is here again!

Like every year, this year too NIT Meghalaya will organise 'SHISHIR' — the state's 'largest cultural fest' from April 5-6 in Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

This fest has various competitions and cultural events.  Events dedicated to Dance, Drama, Singing, Fashion, Literary, Photography, Online events will held including many other fun events. Celebrities and eminent personalities from various parts of the country will be gracing this festival.

N. Munish Singh (Regional Officer, ICCR, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India) will be present during the inaugural programme as a chief guest.

For the Pro-nite, NIT Meghalaya has invited Sreerama Chandra, winner of Indian Idol Season 5; Miss Mary Khyriem (Miss Shillong 2016, Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast 2017, FBB COLORS Femina Miss India Meghalaya 2018, Top 12 of FBB COLORS Femina Miss India 2018) and Animesh Pandit (Fair & Lovely Mega MR. Northeast 2016) will be present as the judges for the fashion event 'PANACHE'.

For the musical event 'HARMONY', Abhishek Paul (currently involved with a band named 'PREKSHA'  in Shillong, composer) and Sumeet Singh Rajput (Soloist in Quavrerscamber choir Shillong) will entertain the audience with their performances. Also, famous dancers from Shillong, Satbir Singh and Sanjana Mazumdar will be the judges for the dance event 'STEP-UP'.

"Shishir will integrate the various cultures and traditions and lay out a platform for the students to proffer their hidden talents. The team's main motive is to encourage students possessing uniquely wonderful artistry and gift. The team believes that "there is always something delightful about the whale who refuses to be stereotyped," said the organisers.
