Manipur: “I want to quit fighting any type of Election”- Sharmila after losing Election

March 11: The year 2017 has been a year full of hope and aspirations as the year saw 'The Iron Lady' of Manipur rise up and put a strong fight against Corruption through her party People's Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA). August 9, 2016 was a historic day as Sharmila broke her 16-yr-long fast and decided to continue her fight against AFSPA and corruption in Manipur by floating the PRJA and standing for elections.

In an interview with ANI, Irom Sharmila was quoted as saying, " I want to quit fighting any type of election".

Anticipations are high that Irom might want to settle down and start a family of her own as far as her statement is concerned which she made last year and consequently in a series of interviews where she revealed her plans to marry her fiance Desmond Coutinho. The Iron Lady's future plans will be something to watch out for. Until then, hail be to the lady with all due respect to her fight against AFSPA.
