Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary, Mizoram: Biggest wildlife sanctuary

The biggest wildlife sanctuary, Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the western part of Mizoram state, at the international border with Bangladesh about 127 km from Aizawl.

Established in 1985, it is home to a large number of fauna species. Dampa Tiger Reserve is a part of Project Tiger funded by the Government of India.

Dampa Tiger Reserve harbours leopards, Indian bison, Indian Python(Python Molurus Molurus), langurs, slow loris, rhesus macaque and a variety of birds.
