Meghalaya: Five MCS officers nominated to IAS
SHILLONG, Dec 05, 2017: Five Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) officers are all set to be elevated as Indian Administrative Officer (IAS), according to a notification issued by Ministry Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) on December 5.
All the five MCS officers who have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service are from the 1994 batch.
As per the notification, the officers who have been nominated to the rank of IAS officer includes Border Area Development (BAD) director, Rosseta Mary Kurbah, Director General of Prisons, FM Dopth, Director of Tourism, Renette C Sohkhlet, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Matsiewdor War Nongbri and Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Tableland Lyngwa.
These MCS officers have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service against vacancies for the year 2016 as determined by the Centre and in consultation with the State government.
