India’s COVID-19 death toll on Wednesday set a record by crossing the two lakh mark, as the total COVID-19 cases now stand at 1.8 crore.


India registered 3,293 COVID-19 fatalities and reported 3,60,960 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.


According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases are now at 29,78,709.


Maharashtra reported 66,358 fresh cases, witnessing nearly 900 deaths so far. Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 24,149 fresh cases and over 300 deaths for the sixth day in a row.


The six most affected states are Maharashtra (44,10,085), Kerala (14,05,655), Karnataka (14,00,775), Uttar Pradesh (10,86,625), Tamil Nadu (10,81,988), and Delhi (10,47,916).


According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 28,27,03,789 samples have been taken up to April 27.
