COVID update: National recovery rate lifts to 94.55 per cent

Currently, the overall caseload of active cases stands at 12.31 lakh, while over 2.75 crore people have been discharged till now.

NEW DELHI: 

The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday informed that over 1.62 lakh people have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, at the same time when 92,596 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported, in India.

The recovery rate has now improved to 94.55 per cent.

Currently, the overall caseload of active cases stands at 12.31 lakh, while over 2.75 crore people have been discharged till now. 

In the last 24 hours, 2,219 deaths were reported, taking the overall death toll to 3,53,528, due to the pandemic.

Besides, with the largest vaccination drive taking place in the country, over 23.90 crore COVID vaccine doses have been administered in India till now, with at least 27.76 lakh doses administered on Tuesday.

The Indian Council of Medical Research ICMR further informed that over 37 crores and one lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19. 

Over 19,85,967 samples have been tested on Tuesday, it said.
