Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tests positive for COVID-19
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took to Twitter and announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” Gandhi tweeted.
On Sunday, Gandhi had announced the suspension of political rallies in West Bengal given the surge in COVID-19 cases and had also appealed to other parties to do the same.
The 50-year-old Congress leader is among the many politicians who have been infected with the virus in the last couple of days.
On Monday, Former Prime Minister and Congress leader Manmohan Singh tested positive for the same and was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre in New Delhi.
