Army jawan killed in Pak firing

NATIONAL | JUNE 22, 2020:

An Army jawan was killed on Monday in a firing incident between Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

"One soldier was killed in the firing and shelling from Pakistan on the LoC in the Nowshera sector. Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on the LoC simultaneously in Nowshera sector of Rajouri and the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch," said an official statement by the Indian Army.

"The Indian Army is retaliating befittingly at both places where heavy firing exchanges have been going on," the statement added.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan has been reportedly violating the bilateral ceasefire agreement of October 2003 with little to no care in the past month, threatening the lives and livelihood of the border residents along the LoC.
